
Mr. Edney is a founding member of the bank. He has served on the Board of Directors since the bank's inception and previously served as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Edney has had a 30 year career in asset management and sales. He has previously served the community as Grand Jury Foreman, member of the El Centro Regional Medical Center Board of Trustees, member of the El Centro Elementary School Board, and as Mayor and council member for the city of El Centro.
Mr. Rubin has been involved with Valley Agriculture for over 32 years. He was associated with Fifield Land Company for 19 years, until 2002. He is currently General Manager of Rubin Seeds, LLC and was a farm and ranch Real Estate Appraiser, Loan Officer and Assistant Manager of the Federal Land Bank Association of El Centro. He has served as Branch Manager and Loan Officer for Imperial-Yuma Production Credit Association. He is on the Board of Directors of the California Alfalfa Research Board, Imperial County Farm Bureau Board of Directors and the California Wheat Commission. Mr. Rubin earned an AS degree in Agricultural Engineering Technology from Imperial Valley College, and an AS degree in Agricultural Engineering from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
Mr. Bracken is the founding partner of Development Management Group, Inc., a business and development consulting company operating in Riverside, San Diego, Kern and Imperial Counties, which began in 2002. Mr. Bracken is a graduate of the California State University at San Bernardino with a B.A. degree in Marketing and a Masters in Public Administration with an emphasis in Economic Development. He is currently member of the Board of Directors County of Riverside Workforce Development Board, and Board of Directors Desert Sand Unified School District Facility Development Corporation.
Mr. Calderon is the President of Canizalez Associates, Inc., providing rehabilitation counselor services in Imperial and San Diego County. Mr. Calderon has received a BA degree from University of California San Diego in Psychology, a MA degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Redlands, and is completing his doctorial dissertation in Psychology at the California Institute for Human Science. Mr. Calderon is a member of the El Centro Chamber of Commerce.
Mr. Erickson, owner of Erickson and Associates, is a commercial real estate appraiser. Mr. Erickson is a licensed Certified General Appraiser and Real Estate Broker in California. He is a real estate developer and has constructed several build-to-suit commercial and industrial properties in the local area. Additionally, he owns and manages other real estate assets, including co-ownership in Aten Road Express a convenience store complex in Imperial. Mr. Erickson also has experience in farm management, agri-chemicals (former licensed pest control advisor), and brokerage. Mr. Erickson attended Orange Coast Junior College, Brigham Young University, and San Diego State University.
Mr. Gibson is the President and General Manager of Gibson & Schaefer Inc., a ready-mix concrete and delivery company, based in Heber with locations throughout Imperial County. He has been a member of the Brawley Chamber of Commerce for 25 years, Imperial County Sheriff's Aero Squadron for 20 years, Brawley Airport Advisory Commission and Imperial County Building Industry Association for 15 years. Mr. Gibson has been a member of the Imperial County Land Use Commission for three years.
Ms. Selwick is actively involved in the management of Selwick's, a long time cosmetic and perfume business located on the border in Calexico. She is also the managing partner in Bellefaire Estates. Ms. Selwick is a graduate of San Diego State University. She has served two terms on the City of Calexico's Personnel Commission where she served as Chair twice. Ms. Selwick has also been a member of the (ARC) Association for Retarded Citizens where she served as Board President twice.
Mr. Shields is a graduate from the University of Arizona with a degree in agriculture and engineering and served as a veteran of the Korean War as an Officer in the United States Air Force. He is an Entomological Society of America Board Certified Entomologist and continuously been a member of the local CAPCA organization serving on the board several times and on the California Board as Vice President. He is involved in entomological service, farming and real estate in the Imperial Valley. In 1967 he began his entomological consulting business in Brawley, Clyde Shields Entomological Service, Inc. Since that time Mr. Shields has continued to be active in the Imperial Valley community. He has previously served as the President of; the Brawley Rotary, Imperial Valley School Board Association and the Imperial Valley Arts Council. Mr. Shields also served for 12 years as a Board Member on the Brawley High School Board. He is also a Charter Member of the Calipatria Chamber of Commerce and President of the Sacred Heart Development Fund.
Mr. Martin has over 20 years of property management and real estate experience. In addition to his real estate experience, Mr. Martin has ownership interests in the both hotel and recreational industries in San Diego and Imperial Counties. He is a member of the El Centro Chamber of Commerce and the Imperial Valley Board of Realtors. In 2007 Mr. Martin was one of the original founders and organizers of Community Valley Bank and became a member of the Board of Directors in September 2012.
Mr. Slocum is President of Winfield Development, Inc., a real estate development/construction company in San Diego and is a partner in real estate holdings of several multi-family residences located in El Centro. Mr. Slocum graduated from Chapman University in Orange County with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance. Mr. Slocum is a licensed California General Contractor and is responsible for building the El Centro Office for CVB. He is also a Director on the Board of The Greenhead Club located in Pine Valley. Mr. Slocum is active in his community and contributes to special youth programs, both in San Diego and El Centro.
