About Us

CVB, a division of Frontwave Credit Union, is proud to be part of a member-owned financial cooperative grounded in people, service and community.

On October 1, 2025, Community Valley Bank became part of Frontwave Credit Union. This acquisition strengthened CVB with the scale and stability of a larger organization while preserving its local roots and long-standing relationships.

Founded in 2007, Community Valley Bank has served communities across Imperial and Riverside counties through five branches in El Centro, Brawley, Indio, Julian and Borrego Springs, California.

Today, CVB continues to operate on its existing systems. Your accounts, debit cards, checks, online banking, branch locations and the local team you rely on all remain the same.

In late 2026, CVB will transition to Frontwave Credit Union’s systems. That transition will expand access to enhanced digital tools, a larger branch network and additional products and services.

For more information on the transition, please visit our comprehensive FAQ page that will be updated regularly as we move forward.

What It Means to Be Member-Owned

Frontwave Credit Union operates as a cooperative, where Members are also owners.

That means the Credit Union exists to serve the people who bank here, not outside shareholders. Earnings are reinvested to benefit Members through better rates, fewer fees, stronger services and long-term financial stability. Every Member has a voice in how the Credit Union is governed.

The credit union movement grew from a simple belief: people are stronger when they work together. It was created to provide fair, accessible financial services when traditional banks often fell short. That principle, often described as “people helping people,” continues to guide how credit unions serve their communities today.

Through Frontwave Credit Union, CVB combines local service with the accountability and long-term focus of a cooperative model.

Governance and Member Voice

Frontwave Credit Union relies on a volunteer Board of Directors elected by its Members. Board members serve without compensation.

The Board oversees the Credit Union, sets strategic direction and ensures leadership acts in the best interest of Members and the communities they serve.
